Political Reforms in Morocco

AMI & Middle East Institute, Washington December 13, 2006

The Middle East Institute (MEI) and American Moroccan Institute; (AMI) invited André Azoulay, Counselor to HM the King of Morocco Mohammed VI, to discuss the ways in which Morocco provides an encouraging example for the promotion of democratic reforms, human rights, political and cultural pluralism in the MENA region. Based on his extensive experience advising first the late King Hassan II and then his son King Mohammed VI, Dr. Azoulay also examined Morocco’s regional role in peace efforts as head of al Quds Committee. The panel was  introduced by Dr Mokhtar Ghambou, AMI president, and moderated by David Mack, the acting president of MEI. In addition to the attending audience, the talk was accessible via Video networks to several American universities.
